Latvian citizenship allows you to access a world-class EU healthcare system
If you are a citizen of Latvia, you have an access to world-class healthcare systems of the number of the EU countries free of charge or at highly subsidized rates.
Your European Health Insurance Card is valid for use throughout any of EU countries and in Switzerland. You have the same rights to health treatment as people in the country you are in.
With Latvian citizenship, you and your family have the same social security benefits as citizens of the country in which you study, live or work. These rights cover benefits payable for accidents at work, occupational illness, death and unemployment, sickness and maternity benefits, disability, old-age and survivor’s benefits, as well as family allowances.
